A Voodou Christmas

The Christmas events are in full swing and one of my favourites happened just next door to my flat last week!

Voodou (98 Bold Streetis one of the top leading hair salons in Liverpool, and my favourite places to go to get my hair done (not biased, honest!) I don't often get my hair done, it only needs the occasional trim now and then, and I very rarely do any drastic changes but every time, it's always Voodou. I had my hair done for my 21st birthday here, and my hair has never looked and felt so amazing.

The salon has such a fun, friendly vibe, the staff are lovely and all so talented, it's no wonder they're one of the best salons in Liverpool.

Anyway, on with the event. So, Allie Davies, blogger at Tie Dye Eyes and social media extraordinaire for Voodou, put together a lovely event to showcase everything the salon has to offer.

There were personalised cupcakes and the prosecco was a-flowin'. Upstairs, in the main salon, there were stylists of Voodou giving bloggers hair makeovers with a choice of a braid, curly locks, up-do's and glitter roots. It was the perfect way to try out a hairstyle you've never done before, in a fun environment. I've always been keen to try out the 'space bun' trend à la Miley (lol) and in the good hands of one of the stylists, I felt confident to give it a go! You can see below how it looked!

Ta-daaaa! Overall I really like it, it's a bit 'out there' compared to my usual but I can definitely see my self sporting the look at a gig or festival sometime!

I was having such a good time upstairs, I didn't realise there was even more going on down in the basement! A table filled with goodies to eat, goodie bags, a selfie corner to take some snaps and loads of bloggers nattering and networking away.
On top of that, there was Elizabeth Elsie, who is a resident MUA at Voodou, giving out mini makeovers! Everything was Christmas themed with the choice of an icy highlight, festive glittery eye or glitter lips. To add to my already glittery-head, I went for a shiny pink tinted highlight. Elizabeth created some fabulous looks at the event as I spotted other bloggers throughout the salon with beautiful glittery Christmas make up. I've also had a ponder through Elizabeth's Instagram and man, her work is good! Go have a look for yourself here.

Me and some lovely bloggers I met that night posing with some Christmas props. (The Lipstick Lady & Blush & Noise blog)

The lady behind the amazing event, Allie, giving out prizes from the Christmas stocking.

Towards the end, Allie and stylist from The Hippy Club gave a little speech thanking us all for coming and how it was great bringing all the bloggers together to network and interact with the brand. The event was to promote Voodou and other independent businesses and bloggers alike based in Liverpool and showcase this amazing, creative city!

Follow Voodou on Facebook for updates and if you head to the salon, say Lucie Rose recommended you and you'll get a free The Hippy Club dry shampoo with your treatment.

Big thank you to Voodou and Allie for inviting me and organising such a great event!
