1. Alpecin Double Effect Caffeine shampoo: Boots
I have wanted to blog about this shampoo for so long and share my amazing discovery! So here we have it, finally! I was intrigued after seeing a few adverts on TV about the cult German caffeine shampoo...but thought, wait that's a bit odd...caffeine, in a shampoo? Well basically, caffeine is put in coffee and Coca cola etc. which gives you energy, right? So, basically it does the same for your hair, and it has done to mine.
My hair has grown SO fast and it has added a lot of volume to it as well. I cut my hair (I know, I know) a while back thinking I wanted a change...and have been trying to grow it back ever since and this Alpecin shampoo has definitely sped up the process. Yes, it is a shampoo normally recommended for people suffering from hair loss but it also works well for me and my hair has increased by roughly 2 inches already and i've only been using it 1-2 times a week. And it's not just me saying this, several people have remarked how lovely my hair looks, and how much it has grown too! It doesn't have an over powering smell, except it does smell a tad 'masculine' but doesn't stick around. It's not a gunky product to use and washes out easily too. I 100% recommend this!
2. Mirror compact c/o House of CB
It's good to have a little compact mirror on you when out and about to touch up make up or check for any breakouts or stray eyebrow hairs. This little pink beauty is from House of CB and it comes with a normal sized mirror and a magnified mirror on the other side...not always flattering but very useful.
3. Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24h: John Lewis
I decided to invest in a good quality foundation and went for this Lancôme product that my mum uses and recommended. I actually already borrowed it off of her and loved the great coverage it gave me. My mum insisted that I buy one of my own (and stop borrowing hers!) so I did and i'm so glad I made the investment. It covers EVERYTHING so much so, I don't even need concealer most of the time. As the bottle guarantees, it stays put all day long and doesn't budge. It's a nice glide-on product so it's very easy to apply and blend. The foundation also contains SPF 15 AND it's oil-free...it is perfection in a bottle. (the shade I use, pictured below, is shade 02)
4. Illamasqua nail varnish in shade 'Phallic' c/o Illasmasqua
Despite me saying in one of my earlier posts that it's out with the dark colours on nails for Spring/Summer, it's still nice to wear a dark shade for the evening. The shade Phallic has a lovely shimmer to it so it's perfect for going out. It's easy to apply and doesn't chip too easily.
5. Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Scrub: Superdrug
I was on the hunt for a basic scrub that I could use to help wake my skin (and me!) up in the morning. This one is ideal as there's no pesky smells or ingredients, it's just your basic facial wash that exfoliates the skin and leaves it feeling refreshed and silky smooth.
6. Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in 001 dark brown: Boots
One of my favourite vlogger/Instagram make up artists, Jamie Genevieve recommended this to use, surprisingly, on the lips, rather than on the eyebrows. I've been on the hunt to find the perfect lip liner that resembles the Kylie Jenner lip so when this was recommended, I thought this may work... and it really does! I apply it alongside my Bobbi Brown Lip Color in 'Rose' and they both match each other perfectly. The pencil is easy to apply, stays put and doesn't bleed into your lip line like other lip liners. It looks great with a smokey eye and a bold brow on a night out.
7. Sassoon Motion hold flexible hairspray c/o House of CB
I'm not one to put a lot of product in my hair as I find it ends up feeling weighed down. However, when House of CB gave me this Sassoon hairspray, I thought, ok I'll give it a go and I honestly love it. It doesn't leave my hair feeling hard and sticky like some hairsprays do, but gives it that bit of bounce and life that it needs. It smells lovely, feels light and allows you to style your hair around it.
