Review | Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera

One of my favourite new gadgets of 2014 so far is the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant (polaroid) camera. I've always wanted a polaroid camera and after seeing this on several other blogs, I decided to bite the bullet and get one. I would have asked for it for Christmas if I knew about it beforehand, but heyho I'm allowed to treat myself at other times of year too! They're not too pricey coming in at between 50-70 € (mine cost 68 € including postage) and what you get for the price is great. I was so excited when it arrived, I was like a little kid on Christmas day...seriously!

The design of the camera reminds me a little bit of a retro toy, it looks so cute on my bedside table too. The camera comes in a range of pastel colours (blue, green, white and yellow...I also saw a matte black version on Tumblr too). I can't fault this camera at all. It's straight forward to use (thank god for pictured instructions), and it prints the cutest photos (which are about the size of a credit card). It's also pretty easy to take selfies with too. The film can be bought online- the cheapest I found was around 7 € for a packet of ten on Ebay, here. You can buy them with different designs too like polka dots, Disney or Hello Kitty...

There's something special about taking a photo without the editing and several takes before it's 'perfect'...the photo is at is and that's what I love about it. We're all so used to digital images nowadays, I think it's a nice change to have one you can actually hold. Once I've gathered a collection I'm going to put them amongst my fairy lights on my bedroom wall or put them in an album. I was also surprised by the great quality of the photos. It comes with different settings for outdoors and indoors to adjust to your needs as well. Even my cat was happy to pose for a pic (I think).

I absolutely love it and plan to use it throughout 2014 and onwards! Have you bought the Fujifilm Polaroid camera lately?
